Our History

How your Hunter-based bookkeeper came to be 

Before Beam Bookkeeping became your dedicated Hunter-based bookkeeper, our business began as two separate entities, BookSmart (established in 2015) and BizSynergy (established in 2013).

We knew by bringing our two businesses together, we could form a dream team. So, in 2021 we combined forces and Beam Bookkeeping was born!

Why our businesses merged

Our Directors, Katie and Deb recognised an opportunity to merge businesses with the intention to nurture the team and their skillsets, continually move with innovation, support growth and allow us to continue delivering a quality and authentic service to our clients.

Due to this optimistic outlook Beam has proudly become the choice bookkeeping service provider in the Hunter region, seeing us grow across Newcastle, Maitland, Port Stephens and the Hunter. We now even service clients Australia-wide!

Combining the businesses allowed us to tailor our services to what businesses in Newcastle, Maitland and the wider region needed, and utilise our strengths in different areas of the business.

Did you know we are an Accredited Happy Workplace?

We have partnered with the team at BU Happiness College on their Happy Workplace Accreditation. As a business, one of our core values is ‘care.’ This transpires through all facets of our business to our clients and importantly our employees. We are constantly bringing in measures to create a positive work environment, and were so proud when we found out our results.
